71 nova on the way to body shop
4 Attachment(s)
Just finished up with the dse tubs. Pulled the motor and its off to the body shop for paint. Havinmg problems with the door pins. Installed new kit but door still sags. Hinges are welded on. Anybody weld the holes to repair and have good luck?

What are you going to use for an engine and drive train?
|
I am on the fence with the engine between a 383 striker or a ls1 fuel injected. Trans will depend on engine.

Guess there's enough room around here for another '71 project :D . Looking like a good start.
Between those two it would be tough not to go LS platform. I'm really struggling with not converting myself but I just had too much BBC stuff already to swap. |
I converted mine to bolt on hinges on the door side. Drilled out the welds, made some plates for the inside with nuts welded on.
LS all the way. It takes a little creativity to make one look different nowdays but the power and efficiency cant be beat for the $. Heres mine if you havent seen it. Should give you more ideas. http://www.popularhotrodding.com/fea...ova/index.html Good luck with the bodywork, I hope you signed a contract for a completion date. |
Haha. I hear that alot when it comes to people doing bodywork. The car is never ready on time. He said end of August but if it slips to September or October that's ok. I live in CT so I just want it back for winter because its cold and gets dark at 4:30 so I just wanna turn the heat on and out this thing back together. Its getting sand blasted next week so I will stop down and take some pictures to post.

I hope it works out ok, but come December you will wish you had that signed contract and not a car sitting in someones shop with boxes on it.
