Chevy II
 

I've been lurking for a while, so I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jon and I'm about to start on a 66 Nova with a friend. I just talked him out of a Heidts front end. This car will probably see a little track time but probably not raced. I'm looking at a front sub from Wayne Due, but what are my rearend options? This will be a first time build for me. I think I could handle anything up to metal fabrication. I just bought Herb Adams book and realize I have a LOT to learn. Plans include an LS1, T-56, and all the other goodies.

I'm not looking to follow in Parson's footsteps. Although it is a monument to home engineering, I'm just not at that level yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome aboard Jon. Following Parson's Nova would be a difficult task no doubt. Sounds like you have a good hold of what direction you want to go & already have some killer parts. Good luck on the build & as always...WE WANT PICS!!! :thumbsup:

It will be a little while before I get pics. We're in the R&D phase and trying to come up with a solid plan. Still trying to figure out what we want to do for the rear. I know a properly tuned leaf-spring suspension can work well with a good front clip, but my friend is adamant about not using leafs? Any ideas? I can't seem to find any "kits" except for a heidts IRS. Would love a nice 3-link or something like DSE's 4-link. Just not enough stuff out there for early Chevy IIs.

If you are looking for a kit, TCI and Heidts both make a bolt in or weld in 4-link for a 62-67 Chevy II. I am not sure about the geometry of those kits, but they are considered a 4-link.
