My buddy lost his 65 2+2 Stang this weekend

My buddy has owned this car for about 15 years. It went through an extensive high quality restoration over the last couple of years.

Saturday moring while cruising at 55 a Hummer pulled out in front of him.

Lap belt only - broken thumb, painful left wrist and an implant of the steering wheel on his chest.

Waiting to hear the verdict now - My guess it is a total. It can be fixed, but I doubt the insurance company will do it.

Damn!

That sucks! He's lucky to not be hurt worse though. I cried a little when seeing the picture. Those little Mustangs are one of my all-time favorites.

Glad to hear he is ok, realtively speaking. Sucks about the car though.

Man that sucks. F***ing Hummer should be scrapped and crushed for hurting that pretty Mustang. Glad your buddys ok, hope he decides to save the Mustang in spite of what the insurance will pay.

Oh ****! Im glad your friend is ok. Too bad about his Mustang. I hope he is able to keep it and rebuild someday.

Damn, that's terrible. I can pretty much guarantee you they'll total it.

Man, that's horrible. Glad he's ok for the most part. That car looked like it was great before.

That sucks, Im actually surprised at how well the car folded up without going into the passenger compartment. (at least it looks that way from the pics). Luckily hes not hurt bad and all that sheetmetal is available to fix.

Dang, that sucks. At least he made it through without any more serious injuries. If he had been hit more toward the A-pillar or door, it might have been a whole different story. Did he have his own collector car policy on it, as well?

Yep, he is a very lucky guy. It clearly wasn't his time to exit this life - as I've seen classic car wrecks far less serious that are fatal. I was able to speak to him today. Said he is going to see a surgeon to look at his wrist. Not much you can do for the rib/chest pain and other aches.

I first got the call on Saturday morning that he had a serious accident. Word was he was "cut" out of the passenger door. As the day went on and calls came in we realized he had to go out the passenger door because the driver door was stuck. He was released the same day and sent home to rest.

This guy is central to the Christian car club group that is part of the Project R 68 Bird that we'll be giving away. He has been responsible for the yearly car show and many other functions for a very long time.
