ABody Folks with ProCharger LSX Transplant kit - PS fit?

Hey Guys,

I was just checking to see if there was anyone out there with the ProCharger LSX Transplant kit in a '68-72 Abody? I am almost done installing all the pulleys but there is a significant clearance issue with regards to the PS.

I am using Edelbrock mounts and a GM600 steering box. The location where they put the PS pump makes it virtually IMPOSSIBLE for it to work. The pulley slams into the steering box and it is a hard hit...not a little grinder clearance type of interference. I am looking at possibly making my own bracket and moving the location of it slightly and going with a Ford PS Pulley on the Vette pump to alleviate the issue (if I even can) but I just may end up going manual steering with the delete kit if this fails because I cannot afford a $1700 Unisteer Rack.

Let me know if any of you guys have faced similar issues...pics are appreciated!

The best fitting stock accessory drive system for an A-body is the Corvette drive. The alternator sits up high on the driver's side and the PS pump is right below it, but it should not interfere with your steering box.

What drive are you using?

This is NOT the Corvette drive. I have the Corvette drive also and that does fit, but what I am referring to is the ProCharger LS Transplant kit. They supply their own bracketry and say that it fits all applications, but I believe they only test fit it on a '1st gen Fbody.

No longer my issue, however, as mother nature has decided to throw me another curve ball and the ProCharger is going to a new owner. Its funds are going to pay for several downed trees in my yard.

Plus I am perfectly fine with NA power...

Sorry about the trees. Good luck with your project.
