Question about cam install lube
 

I swapped out the VVT cam last week and put in a new 3 bolt Comp Cams cam. I put on some of their install lube like recommended. Unfortunately I'm still quite a while away from actually starting the motor. Will the install lube dry up or will it be fine? I sent an email to Comp Cams and they recommended checking the cam every month or so until I start it. I'm not going to keep pulling my motor apart to check the cam. What do you guys usually do when you put a new cam in a motor that is still going to sit for a while? Thanks in advance.

You should be fine for awhile. But before you start it the first time you will need to pressure lube the engine. Meaning, prime the oil system before start up.
The proceedure is different for the ls motors vs sbc. But the idea is the same. To pre lube everything by spinning up the oil pump until you see oil come out of the top of the pushrods/rockers. Some say to rotate the crank by hand a few revolutions while priming.

I recently saw a article on how to build your own pressure lube device for ls motors. I will try to find it.
