Recap of July’s Racing Events
Recap of July’s Racing Events
August is upon us, we thought we'd recap some of the fun events we took part of in July. Columbus Goodguys Nationals The Goodguys Nationals in Columbus, Ohio, is one of the most anticipated events on the popular Good Guys show schedule. Hosting over 7,000 hot rods and street machines as well as over 100,000 spectators, it is one of the biggest shows of the year. While The Nats have always had an autocross component, this year Goodguys introduced a new twist: a sponsor shootout pitting vehicles from every Autocross Sponsor against each other in a ladder-type shootout. Hotchkis was represented at the autocross in several classes including Street Machine, Truck and Vendor. "Fast" Mary Pozzi put Hotchkis on the podium both Saturday and Sunday in her Hotchkis-equipped 2nd Gen Camaro, claiming 2nd place on Saturday in the Street Machine class and, due to a wayward cone, 3rd on Sunday in the shootout. This was Mary’s first Goodguys competition with her newly rebuilt car, featuring an all-new Hotchkis Total Vehicle System set to debut at the 2011 SEMA Show. Considering how early this race is in the car’s development phase, we are tremendously proud of the result. http://hphotos-snc6.fbcdn.net/284608..._1124737_n.jpg For more results and photos from the full event, check out hotchkis.net NMCA/NMRA West Coast Shootout Closer to home, Hotchkis joined forces with Baer Brakes to host an Autocross and SpeedStop Challenge at the first ever NMCA/NMRA West Coast Shootout. The event was a stunning success with over 50 participants running all weekend long. With classes for Modern Muscle, Street Machine, Muscle Machine, Truck, Street Rod and Turn & Burn, there was a great array of cars, trucks and customs running the cones and locking up the tires on the autocross and SpeedStop courses. Competition in some classes was fierce and the results very close. Fellow Camaro owner (and student of Mary Pozzi), Deanna Marengo narrowly took the win in Muscle Machine with a 36.25 over 2nd place Kyle Newman's 36.47. Deanna runs a full Hotchkis 2nd gen TVS on her stunning cherry metallic F-body and those of you who follow Hotchkis news know how seriously Deanna has been practicing. She really showed the boys how to drive. Carl Casanova was having an awesome time out at the event pushing his TVS-equipped Camaro a serious romp. Steven Rupp was there with Bad Penny and raced in the autocross and at the drag strip. Camaro5 was our biggest forum presence, and there are some great photos and videos of 5th gens tearing up the track Camaro Performers magazine video: http://youtu.be/VgiAiZFxSgI Here are some great photos posted by Rob Byrd: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=110 Saturday’s NMCA event results: http://jaycomservices.com/Event_Mana..._sat_post.html Sunday’s NMCA event results: http://jaycomservices.com/Event_Mana..._sun_post.html For more results and photos from the full event, check out hotchkis.net Also check out the photos on our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set...5.188171375072 |
Very cool! Y'all had a great weekend. Carl c. Looked very fast. Goldburg is gonna have to have a bubble roof on his T /A. He's one big ...dude. What happened to the Hotchkis T/A challenger? I really liked that car.

Check out our new video! Our H-Team members joined magazine editors and fellow enthusiasts to drag race, brake test and of course, autocross at the first ever NMCA/NMRA West Coast Shootout. Watch them hang it all out around the cones in Fontana.
Also check out this great video from the Columbus Goodguys event: It was a great event! We’re looking forward to the next one! |
Out of curiosity, who post updates from Hotchkis? Aaron?
I had a blast at the Fontana event. |
Check out our 2nd video for the NMCA/NMRA autocross and speed stop event! We had a bunch more cool footage of great cars and faces that didn’t make it in the 1st video so it only made sense to make another one! Enjoy!
Will you be able to come to the next event? Don’t miss out! |
