67 Nova 2 Door Wagon Project

Well I though I would post up some pics of a new project we are working on here in the shop. Its a 1967 Nova 4 door wagon that we are transforming into a 2 door wagon. We are using the longer 2 dr sedan doors and we are planning on having a sliding rear window similiar to a chevelle 2dr wagon. the B pillar is still up in the air as far as what we are shooting for. Here is a rough draft rendering from Jason Rushforth. Plans for the car are LS1 4L65E and TCI mustang II front clip. Stay tuned for more updates.

Awesome project!

I would take the angled post from the rear door and use it on the front door.

Eric I know im holding out on him til I see some rubber. Actually Jason threw that rough draft idea together pretty quickly for me so I could surprise the owner with a visual concept. Im waiting on the owner to make the trip up here on friday so we can nail down the B pillar design and talk over the sliding rear window and drop off some parts. The owner is really after it looking like it came from the factory as a 2dr wagon. Once we get the little specifics down Jason going to finalize the rendering.

Scott Ya im really enjoying this project. Ive seen a few done over the years. I actually built a 64 Belair 2 dr wagon back in high school but sold it shortly after high school to fund my Chevelle and lost most of the pics of it through moving a few times over the years. It was in Hot Rod mag back in 99 when I took it long haul on the power tour. This project has been in the works for a few years as the owner was interested in the 62 belair 2dr hardtop wagon concept I have on my website but decided he wanted a smaller car so hes been collecting parts for a while and now we are just getting going on it.

This thread and the comments have me thinking more and more about that B-Pillar and I may have to take another stab at it in the morning but what if we do the angle on the back of the door but thicken up the pillar like a Chevelle 2 door wagon? Hmmmm. To be continued........

Just start with a Nomad.... Then you'll have a good looking body to start with.
