Assuming the rest of your front suspension is stock? Subframe, a-arms etc? Its risky business to take/give advice on wheel backspacing. Wheels are a big investment and normally once tires are mounted, they are non-returnable. And beyond that, custom built wheels are non-returnable period. With that said, please use my advice as a guideline. You should be able to tell how much room you have to move with your current setup. Add the info above with some of your own measuring and make sure you are comfortable with your decision. |
You wont be able to run a wide rim with a drop spindle. Do to the center pin placement moving up and your tie rod placement in theory moving down will cause the rim/tire to make contact.
To keep the tire away from the tie rod end it needs a 4" back spacing not much more then that. Dave took a good picture of what Im talking about http://www.pozziracing.com/Media/dro..._clearance.jpg |
Unless you go with a taller wheel. Sort of the same deal with ATS spindles. I wanted to use them but in my case, with 5.5" back space, I would have run into the same thing.
