carbon fiber valve covers and engine/ valve train sound ?

I haven't been around any other cars with carbon fiber valve covers and the engine running. My engine has them. Does the carbon fiber covers increase the engine/valve train sound?

I've never considered it too much, but they are louder than a cast valve cover. Sheetmetal is louder also. I went with the cast GM covers on mine; great quality and looks and as quiet as you'll get.

Thanks, I was lucky enough to run into a guy that works at a repair shop and had him listen to my engine. His opinion was that it sounded ok.
I'm happy with the performance. It's fun to drive. Even more fun now that the gas gauge works.
