best power windows for 1st gen Camaro
Hmm... not sure if this is the exact right place for this question, so mods feel free to move if necessary.
My car got dented by a chunk of a semi tire that flew up from somewhere on the road, so I figure while it is getting a couple panels repainted, I might as well fix all of the little odds and ends. One of the problems I've had has been with power windows. I figured out my Marquez door panels were pinching the windows towards the A pillar, and keeping them from going all the way up. In the process of finding this out I damaged the remanufactured motors. So, my question is, who makes the best power window motors? a lot of vendors seem to sell Electric Life, are they appreciably better? Matt |
First of all, welcome back Matt! Where you been and how's the new go kart project? :)
Mike @ Musclerodz reccomends Nu relics although I have no pesonal experience with them. I was also dissatisfied w Elec Life on my last car. Sorry about the dings Bro! |

Thanks for interest and advice. I'll let you know about the go kart when I know a little more. Matt |
Mike also suggested the Nurelics for my 70. I keep hearing the motors in the other kit mentioned are not strong enough.
I do not have any first hand experience with either kit. But I do trust Mikes opinion very much. You seem to have some sort of "damage magnet" in your car Matt. How many paint/body repairs does this make since you finished it? |
See if you can adapt a GM motor or just go ol' school and use a little muscle. :unibrow:

We sell a bunch of them and yet to have a complaint. I also used a number in the shop, and love them. not to mention lifetime waranty as well on all components make them worth the few extra bucks

The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards just replacing the remanufactured GM motors. I don't want to replace the regulators, if I can avoid it. If I still have problems, I'll go the nu-relics route. Matt |

So, long story short, you might try hooking the poorly performing window motors up directly to a 12V source and see how they do. |
