Seat belt shoulder strap placement.

I'm planning to integrate some 3pt seat belts into the original front bench seat of my 57 Eldorado. (which I know will require a lot of seat frame and floor pan reinforcement).

Question is, do you see any major problems with having the shoulder belts come across you from the inside? Meaning if you were in the drivers seat, the seatbelt would go across your right shoulder rather than your left shoulder.

If I did it that way it would be purely for aesthetics.

The only downside I can see is there may be more chance of getting ejected from the vehicle in a major accident but certainly better than no belts at all.

Any input appreciated :)

we have all sorts of different configurations in our fire engines, one of which is the same as you listed. ive always thought there was a higher probabiltiy of your body folding towards the door, but i doubt the engineers were clueless when designing them.

The rear seatbelts in my E34 M5 are as you describe.

Shiny Side Up!
