Mustang Suspension

Gents,

A friend has come to me asking for some suspension advise for a 68 Mustang Pro Touring build he is wanting to put together. Honestly, I haven't followed what goes into the Mustangs as I am more of a Camaro guy. Figured I would throw it out there and see if anyone has some good info I can pass along.

Any direction or advice you might have to off would be appreciated.

Thanks Guys.

He want's to build the car and use it for some track time and autocross events. So suspension and steering I'm guessing. Is there a DSE like company that specializes in Mustangs?

Hi,

I have now Heidts II suspension kits in the front and rear, I'm really happy with that, together with a good rack and pinion...

The products of Total Control are also very good! Check them out.

Go back a forum on this site and go to the vendor support area under Roadster Shop. Check out their new Mustang Suspensions-they look pretty awesome. Also, DSE has or will have a Mustang front sub too.

They make products that perform better than they look, and they look really cool. The proof is in the pudding so to speak, and Maier equipped cars have proven they can win, and do!

The Mustang II front end is great for cruisers, but most people who track their car stay away from the MII front end.

Curtis,

Check out my falcon build thread. I built my own suspension front and rear. Falcon and mustang are very It may give your buddy some ideas.

My goals were to build the best geometry I could around stock V8 spindles and keep it as light and strong as possible. ALso so I could fit the biggest tires possible.
