PRO-TOURING: Black Betty

Ok, now the story of the Belair:

I live in Belgium so sorry if my english is not so great.

Well, first of all I bought a chevrolet 150 at a shop in America 2 or 3 years ago. Car looked good at first sight but was not so great as we thought when the car arrived.
The car was restored so the body was allright. The brake system was changed to a wilwood 4 piston kit but unfortanatly the car didn't stop well. It had the stock suspension kits so not good at all.
The engine was a big block 489 stroker engine with about 700 hp. Ok, that was nice but a little too much for me, also there were some things that were wrong on the engine (too big intake, too big carbu, ignition problems, etc). Here in Belgium streets are not as in America, here is everything a lot smaller and much more traffic so it was too dangerous to drive here with 700 hp and a car that could't stop and didn't drive well.
To be honest, I was very disappointed in the car... My plan was to change nothing on the car and it looked like there need to change a lot to drive the car safe...

That was the car when it just arrived in Belgium:

As you can see, the car looks nice with the boyd coddington wheels but it was more show than go...
The red and white sides are just a wrapping so no paint... My opinion was that it was ugly so I want to delete that wrap

Ok, first of all, I was thinking about a new and reliable engine... Not too crazy but just good and powerful. I bought me a ZZ502 crated chevy engine...
Nothing special...
The car already got a 5 speed Richmond transmission and a Ford 9 inch and we add a limited slip and a hydraulic clutch

the engine bay in the begin of the project:

As you see, a lot of hoses and other stuff that was not able to work anymore...

The other problem was the brake systems... First I was thinking about a Bear kit but because we had some problems to find the good calipers and other stuff, we decide to work further with Wilwood, that helped us out with a good and powerful braking kit.

Here some pics:

Thirth problem was the stock suspension. I know and the rest of the world knows also that the stance of a chevrolet belair is really important so a shockwave airride kit was a number one solution for my problem. Expensive but really nice to have and install.

That is the lowest stance... As you can see the wrapping is gone at the front of the car...

I was in progress with this car for about a few months (it's a pain in the ass to sent parts from America to Belgium) and is was thinking about something that was for a long time a dream to me... It was a Hillborn Fuel injection system with stacks and Fast ECU and other stuff for that ZZ502 engine... It was oldschool and would look really mean on my car.
So I contacted the people of Hillborn (great company to work with) and they helped me really good. There was just a problem because nobody in Belgium had ever worked with a hillborn fuel injection. So a little scared I ordered the injection...

After that, I wanted to add some nice details on the car.

I worked in past already with Ringbrothers (great company) and I asked them to produce custom black door handles and custom black hood hinges...

Really nice work from the Ringbrothers.com:

Door handles:

Hood hinges:

Also ordered a new set of wheels, forgedline wheels for a real pro touring style.
The engine was oldschool so in my opinion the valve covers didn't match anymore with the fuel injection. So I ordered real (no aftermarket) Mickey Thompson valve covers to create a real oldschool look.

Yesterday, the best pinstriper of Belgium came to add some fine details on the Chevy. A fine red pistripe on the wheels, on my calipers, and a small logo on both sides of the car... At this moment no pic available but comes soon...

I have also a pic of the hood modification of the hood for the stacks.

Hope you like it... :blowtiedb:

NEW UPDATE!

The pinstripe is not on the pic as in real live, the colour is much more red.

19 inch wheels from Forgeline with red pinstripe (tyres are not the tyres we will use, will use a 235/35 tyre)

Match with fine pinstripe on wheels and calipers...
