Need longer steering column 69 camaro custom dash
Hi guys! I`ve put in my Bmw E9X dash in my camaro in another thread here, so now i need to find another steering column more suitable for my combo. As far as lenght i have measured my original column to appr 28" . I am in need of one around 32"-35", Also want to get one with integrated wiper and lo/hi beam controls like late 80s Chevy Astro or something. But need to get some measurements for lenght on those first. Any inputs and/or ideas guys??!!

Flaming river can build one for you, Or Ididit

Take a look into a 4th Gen F-body column (Camaro/Trans Am 1993-2002), I have one in my 69 Camaro and I think they are somewhere around that length you described...and they have integrated wiper control, tilt.

Also i like the look of late 80-90 colums to, because they are somewhat squared where the column meets the dash- and so is the dash. I was hoping to get it to fit without to much "customizing" The hardest part is to get everything look like it "belongs" in there IMO:- |

Havent though of that- but off course a great alternative too. Do yours have the original dash?.. Do you have some pics to share?.. Im open for all possibilities here, so thankful for all inputs!! |

Mine also have the unisteer r&p so wouldnt hurt with some extra length towards the rack. Probably ending up buying a custom unit made to order i think. Both Flaming river and Ididit have just what i need:-)

You could get the aftermarket one and build a housing to go around it to get the look your after, Just a thought

Thats exactly what i am leaning at now. I remembered that the donor car had a removable panel around the steering column just where it meets the dash. Turns out the panel fits pretty well around my camaro column to, so i think that the easiest way is like you said earlier Tracy to just order a custom fit column later:-)
