70-73 RS front spoiler re-design
We have been toying with this one for many years. I like the factory part, but it isn't all that effective. Here are some preliminary photos of what we are looking to do. We have toyed with doing a complete new spoiler, or just a front attachment the goes on the factory type spoiler. i like this idea because it can be removed to put the car on the trailer. We have toyed with aluminum, fiberglass, and carbon fiber pieces. Thought I might get some input from all of you guys with 70-73 RS Camaros

I like the way it looks. Please post pics when you get it done. I'm very interested in one. I feel this is one area that I need to update on my car.

So we did a prototype. We layed up carbon fiber using a high impact epoxy resin in sheet form. We created a template like in the photo above, and made the part in two halves. We then glued the two halves directly over the factory style ABS spoiler. We were able to accomplish what we were looking to do, but applying the part to the spoiler was difficult. We may offer this part with a template to cut the final shape to, and leave the material a bit bigger to give fudge room. The nice part about this part is that it is flexible enough to take bumping into a parking block or scraping a driveway, a few times at least. I will post some pictures later tonight. Let me know if any one is interested in wanting one of these. We are looking at a price of about $100. As of now the shape is for an RS spoiler, I don't have a standard one in the shop any more to compare to the standard front spoiler, but if we leave the material bigger than needed it will definitely fit both front ends.

We are offering a carbon fiber (real) overlay in sheet form that will apply to your stock ABS plastic spoiler. This will give you the ability to extend the length of the spoiler, while maintaining similar flexibility of the stock piece. The part comes in two halves, and will be applied with contact cement to the ABS spoiler face. The part will be larger than needed, so there is some fudge room for applying. You will trim to final shape after application. The material cuts fairly easily with large, sharp scissors, or suitable device. we finished one for our car, and the spoiler is extended 1.75" here are some photos

Well we tested the spoiler out at Thunderhill raceway. It held firm at 135 mph! It even lived through about 200 feet through the dirt on a track off (oops)
