What grease for poly bushings?
I have all poly bushings in front and rear arms on my car. Is there any grease thats available at auto parts houses that I can use? Preferably able to be used in a gease gun? I have grease zerks in my tube rear trailing arms and would like to grease them from time to time.
Thanks, NIK |
i'd use the silicon stuff ...energy suspension sells it in a tube.

Bradd Penn High perf greace!!!!

I believe Pfadt supplies marine grease w their poly bushings. Lots o'chatter over on the vette forums about zerk fittings. Apparently zerk will get the outer diameter, but the real lubrication needs to be in the center to avoid binding (on a C6 arm, anyway). The only way to do that is to remove the arm and grease it up. This was the reason Pfadt modified their design to a two piece bushing.

that makes sense about greasing the inside. I was hoping for something that is available from NAPA or Autozone. Where is that Brad Penn stuff sold? I didnt want to pay the $12 in s&h just to order grease from Summit.

Oh, and my poly bushings have about a 3/16" gap between them right where the zerk is, so that void would fill with grease and provide the inner part of the bushing with grease.

Thanks! I ended up making an order for some drilled and slotted rotors and other stuff. I bought the 14 oz. tube so it would last a little while. I figured that I would have to pull them all out, clean them up and re-grease them all from time to time to keep them from squeaking. I got the energy suspension silicon grease. Thanks guys!
