Any info on the Blue 1957 Chev with the ZR1 motor?
 

It was about 1996/1997 and the car was built by Hot Rods by Auburn, maybe?...It was the first time I had seen a complete Corvette ZR1 suspension/engine/and interior transplanted into any kind of a car, let alone a 1957 Chev...I remember it being in Super Chev but can't find the issue...It also made an appearance at the Portland Roadster Show in that era...

What a car...As a new to the scene wanna be car builder, this thing just blew me away...The ZR1 dash looked so natural inside that '57...Unreal what they must have gone thru to work out every detail...

Any pics?...Any links?...Any other info?...HEEEEEELP!!!...

1996 or 1997?? That was a car ahead of it's time. Never heard about it, but I'd like to see pics of it too?

Built in Verndale, Washington by/for Vern Adams...I hope somebody else has some shots of this killer car...

Like I said, the issue of SC left me dazed for months thinking about what it took to make all that ABS, airbag, dash, ZR1 motor, rear independent susp, brakes, computer, etc etc all work in harmony....WOW...

I remember that car. It was purple and they had welded the hood and created a cut line down the side molding so the whole front end open like the c4 corvettes and when it was closed the outline was hidden by the side molding.

I remember the car too ! It may have been worked on by the guys at hot rod fabrication ( in auburn) or it may have been up at mosslanders (monroe ) it was in someones booth at some shows if i remember right ??? Rushforth may know more ....

there not 57 chevys but both have ZR1 engines, and components.

This one, built by my father, has the engine/transmission/computer only, not the suspension components. Those engines are very nice!

The 57 in question was built in my shop, Hot Rod Enterprises,Inc. in Auburn Wa. The owner, Dren Adams, supplied a wrecked ZR1 Corvette and we used as much of the car we could. He has several ZR-1 cars, stock and modified.
The car was built by Andy Osborn and John Arnold in 1995/96. The car was featured in Chevy High Performance magazine,Oct 1996, and several other magazines. He still owns the car. This has to be one of my alltime favorite cars...The integration of ALL of the 'vette stuff was so incredible...And this was back in 1996 before the use of C4-C5 stuff was so commonplace...

I remember seeing the car in High Performance Chev magazine and wanting to see the thing in person sooooo bad...I know it was shown at the Portland Roadster show (the only year that I missed it)...

I would just love to have some great pictures of the thing to tell you the truth...
