Snap On tools - where to buy online?
Hey guys,
I'm looking to buy some Snap On tools from the U.S, and import to Australia. Where can I buy these from? In Australia, we can only buy direct from the Snap On truck. Is this the same deal in the U.S? I see a few items on ebay, but only bits and pieces. |

sorry, double post,

Are you looking to buy a lot of stuff? I could put in touch with our Snap-On guy who is here in SoCal and see if he could take care of a order for you.

Have done this successfully on a few other items, and can see the same potential with the Snap on tools. (providing i can buy at a decent price) Snap on tools sell at ridiculous prices here. |

I bought a couple of sets of spanners of ebay for myself recently at under half of what i would have paid for them here. I'd buy more off ebay, but most people of have 1 of the item. I'm looking to buy several at a time to reduce freight costs etc. Do pep boys or the likes sell Snap on, or somewhere with an online store? Buying direct from Snap on is too expensive, and they will probably not sell to me anyway, to protect their resellers here. Just looking for a product i can make a few bucks off by reselling here. I've been importing Short shifters and reselling, but i've pretty much exhausted my market. Our AUD vs the USD is really good exchange rate at the moment, so it's feasible to do. |
Lol, you can't buy real Snap-on tools from Pep Boys, only directly from them. You may see Snap-on drop lights, gloves, maybe a a cheap wrench set or screwdriver set at Costco ,but that's about it. And I'd stay away from drop light or extension cord in a reel, because they are junk, I've learned my lesson and my Snap-on tool guy don't want anything to do with that trash.

Sadly -- the "BLUE POINT" part of Snap-On is Taiwan junk.... might as well just buy cheap junk if you're going to buy that 'line' from them.
There is no way to buy Snap-On here except from them - or as you've seen - used or just as expensive for new - off Fleabay. I wanted to buy a route and truck - thought it would be "fun" to have and take it to car shows etc. Figured I'd let my brother in law run it. NO WAY. Owner operator only! And you can only take the truck on your route. No thanks! They're so protective. Guess they have to be given the investment! I love their tools and buy on line when I need something (rarely anymore). |
All good advice, thanks guys.
Bummer that they don't sell it through any outlets. I saw some gloves and lead lights at a pep boys store when i was over there last year, that's why i thought there may have been places to buy from other than the van. It's well known here that the Blue Point range is not the same american quality. People still buy plenty of it though, mostly the younger apprentices without the budget of the older guys. There are many products 'made by snap on' but most people here don't know about Bahco, JH Williams etc. I'm trying to stick with the real Snap On product, and maybe a little bit of Blue Point. |
