mr angry turned me on to this site.I also live on LI,ny.Im enjoying all the great iron on this site.Ive included a few pics of my 70 dodge dart swinger that I have owned for about 14 yrs now.I hope to have some better pics soon.I always had a vision of building this car to handle from day one,but in the beginning that wasnt so easy because it was hard to find people who were building these car for that purpose.Info was kind of scarce.I met peter bergman who owns a 71 swinger and he had the same vision only he already done some r&d.He gladly shared all of his info with me and then Id try some things and shared that info with him.We keep going back and forth as are cars evolve.Thats what is great about this hobby ,many friendships can be formed.I met mr angry through pete, great networking.Any way glad to be aboard .Ill try and get a spreadsheet together of my cars internals.Right now im in the proccess of revamping my cooling system;Howe alluminum rad,Spal dual 11" fans, with programable controller etc.Hope to run the last leg of the power tour this year from PA to NJ with Pete and Angry.Maybe we'll meet up.

I have been looking hard at a Mopar for my next project. I have been looking at Darts, Demons, Dusters, Cudas, etc. That is a cool car you have. I do have a quick question; who does suspension pieces for Mopars? I mean if I buy a Duster or Cuda am I going to be able to find some suspension upgrades or is it mostly custom stuff?

the stuff I have is a combination of model specific and custom stuff. 1.04 chrysler torsion bars custom 1.25 front sway bar w/heim joint ends,by sainer engineering carerra econo circle track 500lb 50/50 front shocks w/home made nylon bushings, from 69 camaro(because of lower ride height) FFI tubular upper control arms modified with fully adj. heim joints instead of bushings nylon lower control arm bushings boxed LCA's alluminum strut rods with heim joint ends and custom solid mounts/bushings fully welded and reinforced k-frame alluminum tie rod sleeves with rod ends (circle track stuff) firm feel steering box factory 12" rotors(I had them cross drilled and zinc washed) factoty calipers porterfield auto cross brake pads stainless brake hoses mopar performance alluminum master(manual) flex-o-form fiberglass rear leafs(220 lb) carerra rear shocks addco rear sway bar(3/4) pinion snubber(adjustable) working on getting rear discs 3/4" offset rear leaf kit(more tire clearance) 16x8 pannasport 3-piece racing wheels(15lbs ea) 255/50/16 yoki's ao32r oh,sub frame connectors and im sure i left out a few things too most of this stuff was done on a pretty low budget over a 13 year period,I really am pretty poor I never thought a dodge dart could handle like this, but that was half the challenge to see if it could be done. when you bring this car to a porsche club autocross event and place 21st out of 83 cars you have to see the looks on these guys faces.I was never invited back. I dont know if I will ever build another car because it seems like this one will never be done thanx, justin |

hello. i have a 64 dart gt convertible. im doing a 5.7/6.1 hemi swap. Bill at Reilly motor sports makes a front suspension unit. his unit is in alot of cars. i just got my car last year and itll take years to get done, but i want to do it right the first time. bills unit seems like the best out there. the new hemi is close to the same weight as the slant six i just pulled out of my car which is 60 pounds lighter then the LA series small block engines. i wont be road corse racing my car, my goal is to update an old convertible with new suspension and engine/tranny. havent decided what im doing for the rear.
