Team 3 18" LT III's - Finally!
I have this posted in my build thread over on the other PT site but thought I would throw a few pics up here. There is not an overabundance of information on these wheels in the ProTouring community although they fit the bill pretty good for a mid-priced 100% custom wheel.
Specs: For my 1965 Falcon (running TCI PT front end and modified triangulated four link) I went with 18x8 6"bs up front and 18x11 5"bs rear. In order to obtain this high front backsapce the mounting pad was custom machined down an extra 1/2" by Team III. This gives me a zero clearance backside for brakes, luckily the 13" Wilwoods are just that so no issues, fit great. The rear is a custom tub and shortned axle so I can run the deep dish, rear lip is 5".:unibrow: Weights, front are 25lbs and rear are 29lbs, not the lightest but these things are built like a tank so strength should not be an issue. I ordered them through Richard Oben at North Racecars, www.northracecars.com I could have gone straight through Team III but through Richard the cost was no different and he was easier to communicate with, he has served the Factory Five Cobra community for years and knows these wheels inside and out, he was helpful and responsive. Total cost out the door was $2400 but that included the custom machining to get them to fit the constraints of the falcon, without that it would have been right at $2000 shipped. So that is the scoop, when I was looking at these I could not find much info on the PT sites so thought I would share what I know. If you have any questions or are considering these feel free to ask away.
