New member in SF Bay Area/ 69RS Camaro

Hello everybody,
I've been cruising this forum for a while but didn't become a member until I got my doner car for my build.
About 2 month ago, I was looking at a 69 SS Camaro in Arizona to buy. I drove from Walnut Creek,Ca to Phoenix AZ in the same day to find out that the seller failed to tell me the car was completely rear ended at some point and it was half ass repaired. He said he didn't know about it which I find very hard to believe because he had $500K+ of classic cars inside his garage specially built for his cars. I'm sure he's on this forum too.
As soon as I seen the bent frame rails, I called the dude out and thanked him for wasting my time, gas and money and got in my truck and drove right to Las Vegas and got there 10pm. Here is a picture of the SS in Arizona I almost got jacked on.

The pics below are of a 69RS in Vegas that I was eye ballen before I left California. I ended up buying it.
Sorry if the pics are to big. I dont know how to re size them.
I hope to post the engine and everything under the hood and car online today for sale. I plan to drop 90K into her. Everything from front end to rear end and everything under the hood will be replaced down to the last nut.
Looking at a 800 to 1000HP set up from http://www.d3cadillac.com/

Welcome. Nice pickup on the white 69. I'm right next door in Concord, keep us updated on the progress.

Good catch on the bent rails. Many of the cars out there have been butchered in the 42 years they've been around.

The RS looks really nice. Good luck on the build.

Congrats, looks like good raw material for your build.

Nice starter (from the other end of the Bay)

Nice car to start with. Have fun putting it together. My son and I are having a blast putting DETONATOR together. There are a few nice twisty roads in the north Bay, I can't wait to tear up the hills here in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

There are a couple of Camaro clubs here locally. Camaro's Limited, based out of San Jose and Camaro Generations out of the Central Valley/Sacramento.

Good to have another enthusiast locally.

Welcome from Napa Valley!
Yeah good catch one the frame rails. I bought mine from a guy in San Mateo who had build records going back more than 15 years and swore there was no damage that he knew of. I checked thoroughly but until it came back from the blaster could I see that my rails were bent and the damage was covered up with undercoating. Oh well, replaced them when replacing the trunk pan and minitubbing.
Good luck with the build. Looks like a good foundation to start with.

I love the Endura bumper RS cars --- and when I was in high school -- every Camaro you saw had the vinyl roof! I like that on 'em still today!

Killer find. Hope once you get into it - it's as good as it looks. Sadly they usually aren't. Let's hope this one is!
