I bought the box off a guy on the net who took it out of his 69 but it had a tremec installed (which ive just installed in mine) so i thought it may work. Surly some-one here has converted a t350 speedo cable to hook up to the cable x? Ill send them an email and see what they say, i bet your right i need one of there speedo cables.. |
Hi! I actually got one of the very first (if not the very first) Cable-X back in the 94-95 timeframe and used it to drive the speedo in my 83 Z28 from a T56. The wires are power, ground, and the 3rd wire ties into the high side of the speed sensor on the T56 (purple and yellow wires). Unfortunately that was WAY too many years ago for me to remember which color is the correct wire. I mounted mine on the drivers side in front of the fender well and used the OE speedo cable, hooked into the speedo drive on the Cable-X. It works very well or it did for me. Does this information help you at all?

As far as the correct plug on the transmission, you're looking for the plug on the driver's side below the reverse lock out solenoid.
