Huge group of neglected Bullmastiffs in serious need of help.

Friends,

I don't post on Lat-G often but this is something of an emergency so I hope you'll indulge me. As elsewhere chronicled, I was a Bullmastiff parent, and will be again soon. There is a huge group of dogs that was just rescued from a horrifically neglectful situation in Nevada. Most of the dogs are currently in Phoenix and some have yet to be rescued from NV. The costs of this have outstripped the American Bullmastiff Associations resources. Please give the link below a read and if you can help please do.

My girl, Roxy was adopted from ABARS. She was given a second shot at life via rescue. Please give these dogs a similar chance. We will be adopting one or two of these dogs, but there are far more that need immediate care.

Thanks,
True, Kathy and Roxy (RIP)

It's awful that this guy let these dogs become so unhealthy. Hoarding is a bit of a sickness. The main thing is that the dogs are safer now. The ABA is going to try to get the State of NV to put an injunction on the guy so he can no longer own animals.

I am a dog lover and hope these dogs find good homes. If I had the time and money, I would love to give Titan a great home. What a good looking dog.
I currently have a Miniature Schnauzer, Jenna, that has been pretty sick and has diabetes. She gets 2 insulin shots a day at 12 hour intervals. It's a ton of work, but I love my dog to death.
Good luck to those dogs.

Thanks to anyone who has contributed or aided in spreading the word. We raised close to $1500 in the last two days alone which is fantastic. Despite the stated goal on the Chip-In bug being $10k, the costs of taking care of these dogs is likely to run close to $20k if not more.

If you are reading this, and can help please do. If you can't offer money (and I fully understand if you can't) please help by spreading the word via your personal networks, on facebook or on other social networks.

Titan is a really nice dog. Very affectionate and he minds well. Amazing given his circumstances.

Update:

The dogs are rebounding quickly, tough critters. Some will be moving from the commercial kennel in Phoenix to foster homes in CA, OR and WA.

Snort and possibly Ava are going to come live with us.

For the rest, the path will be from the kennel to a foster home to be house broken, detailed behavioral assessments, putting on some weight and rudimentary obedience training. Once completed they will go on the open rescue board for adoption. That said, anyone that has made an effort to support their rescue will be given first crack at adoption. Let me know. I'll put up more pictures on the blog as I get them.

12/23 Update:

If any of you are interested in adopting one of these dogs the first step for you will be to go to the American Bullmastiff association website HERE and fill out their adoption application form. It's HUGE. Then get that sent in to the National co-ordinator with the Subject line: NEVADA/PHOENIX RESCUES.

Good for Titan! That is awesome news. I knew he would have a home soon. He's a great looking dog.
I'm digging that brindle Mastiff, Boy.
