t56 conversion with console
 

My car will be changing from a LT1-4L60E to an LS3/t56 in my 68 camaro this month. The car currently has a standard 68 console with an auto shifter. I am looking for suggestions in deciding whether or not I want to keep the original console or remove it all together. I know the t56 shifter will move back a few inches and from pictures I have seen with this conversion the console does not look right (like it is too far back). I do not have gauges or anything in the console so I am not worried about that aspect of it. If anyone out there has any feedback, I would appreciate it.
