Musclerodz newest project "PT-Blues"
Most here already know this car from the for sale section. It is now in the hands of a local customer and board member Matt. He was last in line to own this gem and had also put the car up for sale after only having it a short time, but decided to keep it and fix it which is we come in.
This Camaro had tons of potential, but fell way short during the assembly process. That and being blue is where I came up with the project name. Anyways, we will document the build and it will probably be 2 fold. Get the car mechanically sound we it can be driven this year, and then approach cosemetics at a later date. It is truly a 20 footer, nice enough paint you won't be ashamed to be seen in it, but if you get to close you start seeing lots of problems with alignments, gaps, bodywork, etc. I will be posting most the pics on facebook, but will post the more relavent ones here for your viewing pleasure. Here is the short run down on what is coming up for the car already set in stone. When the car was posted in the for sale section -- just one glimpse of the engine bay told me everything I needed to know...
Glad he choose to fix it - and glad you got the job! |
Mike that is a very fitting name for this build. I have wanted a PT camaro ever since I was in college, and have been looking at the great cars on this forum since 04. I finally had enough $ to buy one, and I thought I was getting a quality car that needed to be cleaned up a little. Not sure why someone would buy a lot of big $$$ parts and throw it together in this way. After the car took some criticism on PT.com, and knowing its potential, I decided that it was going to get another chance. Thanks to this forum for helping me find a great builder to do the work.

After a long hard day, it is in pieces. Lots of laughs today taking this thing apart. I firmly believe some people do not need to own tools. You can see a lot of what we found on our facebook page, loaded another 18 pics few minutes ago. enjoy!

If you're NOT a pimply faced teenage girl -- how ya going to get on Facebook? I guess I'll have to have my daughter come over and show me the pics on her laptop.... Or not... :woot: Nice work Mike! Ya sure made quick work of it. |
Bubblegum, zipties, and a miracle kept this thing together on the okc crosstown. Funny Story..I was driving this car one day and a guy pulls up next to me and says" Hey man you have stuff flying out of the back of your car." Now I know why:lol:
