1963 Fairlane at the Roadster Shop

This is a pretty unique project that we are building for a repeat customer. He likes cars that are out of the norm, but definitely cool in their uniqueness. We are just getting underway with the latest, a 1963 Fairlane. The car will be built to look completely stock and give it a total grandma/sleeper look. Underneath the car will be a custom fully independent Fast Track chassis. Power is coming from a Jon Kaase Boss 9 motor with a Tremec 6-speed.

As the car showed up:

After removing the coils we played with a lot of ride heights until we got one that the owner was happy with. (the version that we were happy with was abut 4 inches lower! As the owner put it, "if it was up to you young guys every car would be so low you couldn't drive it")

The car was disassembled and the chassis was designed and built for the car with our Fast Track IFS and IRS

Test fitting the body on the chassis before it gets sent out to be media blasted.

The body came back from media blaster with all kinds of surprises!

A shot down into the bottom of the quarter revealed some real "custom" work. A true "specialist" must have been the one to originally restore this car. The bottom of the quarter was "constructed" from cardboard, spray foam, wire mesh, and a whole lot of bondo!

Beginning of the sheetmetal work. Since Fairlanes aren't all that popular, there literally isn't a single sheet metal replacement panel available. So everything had to be fabbed from scratch.
