hi guys lurker with a heater box question.
 

Not sure if I've posted here or not, but I've been lurking thanks to a fellow Torino owner. I'm building a 70 cyclone big block. I'm moving the engine back as much as possible, while keeping the stock dash. My question is, who makes the most slim heater/a.c. box? The boxes on these cars are large, but I wanna go back 6+ inches. I want to move the whole firewall back in one piece, but using a stock box, id be lucky to get 3 inches, including the distance from the bellhousing bolts to the firewall. I'm sure I could fab one, but I'm also sure there are lots of folks here who have been down this road. Thanks in advance, and killer site. Mike.

Welcome to the site. Most of the aftermarket systems like Vintage Air completely replace the factory heater box with a single self-contained unit under the dash. All the stuff on the engine side of the firewall can be removed. That is how it is with GM vehicles, I am not positive for Ford.
