Z06 wheel fitment
I did a quick search and got nothing so i thought i would ask here. I have an X body and i know the subframe is the same as a 1st gen camaro so how do you get wheels off of a 4th gen f body to work. I measured mine and it looks to need 2-1/2" to 2-3/4" more offset!! do the aftermarket subframes have a wider stance?

really? 2-3/4"??

I would think you'd want less backspacing = less offset. A wheel adapter is the most common solution, aftermarket subframe next. I made some 45mm adapters for an 18x8.5 C6 wheel with 56mm offset for a Nova and it's tight. Assuming you're looking at the 17x9 SS wheels, you've got an extra 1/2" to deal with, so be prepared to either flare the fenders, french the subframe and/or lose turning radius.

They are the 18x9.5 Z06 wheels. So i ordered a 2-1/2" adapter to go to a 12mm lug for the vette wheels so I will keep everyone posted. Hopefully this has not been beat to death already but i havent been through all this yet so its all new to me. The next problem is i cant seem to find info on the knurles in the hub of my 8.5 GM 10 bolt. I need to space out the rears about 3/4" so i need longer studs and i will mod the stock shackles to offset them slightly to bring the rear of the springs inboard as much as i can. I will relocate my shocks and then see how much flex i encounter in corners.

Since you have M12x1.5 studs up front, the ARP #100-7708 M12x1.5 x 2.50" long press-in studs might be a decent option for you in the rear. It will require that you resize your wheel stud holes in the axle to .500", but would be worth the effort IMO. Tobin KORE3 |
Why didnt i see this a couple days ago? lol! I figured. I wound up getting Milodon wheel studs 1" longer with a .480 knurl and 3/4" wheel spacers. I had to remove the original stud (you were correct on your info) and found what you just described. Of course no one in town had longer studs like i needed so summit racing came to the rescue lol! I am awaiting the parts in the mail and will post pics of the fitment.
