Battery In trunk

I'm about to mount the battery in the trunk and the question I have is, Can I run a junction block from the positive connection on the starter to under the hood so I can hook my electric fans to it?

It would be easier than running a wire all the way back to the truck to the battery.

I found these and they looked like a good idea.

Also use one for the ground as well.

short answer is yes

I have a single wire alternator. The hot wire from the alt goes to a junction box in the car under the dash. From there the charge wire goes back to the battery. You can attach fans or whatever to the junction box. Make sure you fuse them in some form or fashion.

You will need to run the heavy gauge starter wire from the battery to the starter. I would not run the starter wire through the junction box.

Does this make sense?

no i was goig to run heavy gauge to the starter from the battery thats not the problem. what i was going to do is then run from the same stud the positive cable is on the wire from the junction block to under the hood.

in other words just run the junction block straight to the starter + terminal.

i bought the DSE kit so i have all the cables. I just need a postive block under the hood somewhere.

You probably need to speak with

American Auto Wire, listed to the left in the banner ads. They would know if what you are trying to do is the best way.

Seems I did the research before I wired mine up and there was a reason not to do it as you described, but I cannot remember why. The charge wire from the alt also needs to be seperate back to the battery and not run through the starter wire.

Post back here once you find the answer from AAW.
