New Wheels and Tires '67 Camaro
I wanted to run this by you guys first. '67 Camaro w/ stock subframe and Hotchkis 2" coils up front and 1.5" leafs out back. I am thinking the following combo:
18x8 w/4.75" BS on 245/40/18 18x9.5 w/5.25" BS on 275/40/18 What do you think? Thanks!! |
front should be fine. the rear with a 275 tire there is no room for mistake I believe a 5.5" back space would be better for a lowered car
|
The back wheel wells in a '67 Camaro are a little smaller than the '68 & '69's. With that said, the 9.5" isn't really going to fit and give you optimal clearance that you should typically need. Not to say it can't be done though, it will just rub more than you may want it to. Depending on what wheel manufacturer your going with, I would suggest a 9" if they have it.
What wheel were you looking to go with? |
We are still trying to pick a wheel. I know I want to go with 18's. I have 17's now. I thought the wheel well on a 67 and 68 were the same?
|
Oops, that is what I meant. 67 & 68 are the same, and 69 being a little different. But, nonetheless, just might want to consider going with a 9" if possible.
A lot of the 2-piece billet wheel manufacturers offer an 18x9. |
What sizes and back spacing do you suggest in a 18" setup?

Just give us a call and we can discuss what look you're going after and what wheels you had in mind. Be glad to help you out.
