Aftermarket vs OEM AC
Hi,
I've seen that most of you install popular aftermarket AC units. I do not like how the tipical control panel looks. I prefer something more modern like current OEM AC controls, with lights and led display. I'm wondering if anybody customized an OEM AC control panel or installed a complete OEM AC System from a moder car. |

Dakota Digital was showing off a REALLY nice looking option for Vintage Air controls at SEMA, but have not shown anything yet on their site. Maybe they can chime in here and let us know when release date is?

I also wondered if there is a simple OEM unit out there yet that could be used for some of our custom installs. In my 356 porsche I'd like to install an AC/Heater and the normal aftermarket stuff is too large for my specific application. I was going to start looking at the new crop of smaller cars to see if there is a digital controlled system that I could source from a yard and cnc a new cover plate for the controller module. I know some of the new stuff also uses/runs thru the body control module - so that might be an issue too. Also wonder what some of the new hybrids have installed...

also for me. Gen IV is definitelly too large for my car. I would need something smaller like OEM unit on Fiat 500 or SMART...
