Stereo question

I found today there is a round noise suppressor hooked to the main amp power cable and the positive side of the battery. (red wire to bat and blue toward amp and black ground)

Shouldn't this suppressor be hooked up to the main power wire to the stereo, or is it better to hook it up to the amp power wire?

I've never seen one put ona amp b4. Usually they r on the head unit but really shouldn't be needed if the install is correct. Ive been in the car audio biz for 25yrs and we quit using them in the late 80s Depending on how big your amp is the noise filter will limit the amount of current going to the amp. Most noise filters are 12-14 gauge and I don't know of any amps even small ones that don't use at least 8 g wire
