DSE cross brace what height should it be?

Having trouble with my rear shocks having enough travel in my 69 camaro with DSEs mini tub kit with 3" drop leafs. My question is how far up should the cross brace be in the trunk? Can anyone measure their car and please get me some direction. When my shock is installed (DSEs mini tub Koni shocks) I have 0.75" before the shock hits the bump stop and I still wanna lower the car alittle more! Please help!!!

1.5" above trunk floor.

yes. the minitub kit do not give clear instructions on install, but the quadralink instructions do and installs the same with exception to shock position

Mike, can the crossmember for the leafs and the q-link be installed to be used with either setup? Going with leafs now but if I want to switch to q-link later could the crossmember be installed for both? I taked with DSE and they thought it may be possible but they had not done it.

really confused cause I spoke with DSE today and they say I should have 5 to 6" of crossmember showing?? When looking in from the trunk! I have 1.5" at the lowest point and up to 3" cause the floor is not level all the way across. Also just not happy with the shock being 90% compressed at ride height!:_paranoid Should I raise the shock mount up about 2"???

It needs to be set at 50/50 bump/extension at ride height. :D

No because the 68-69 is stagger shock and crossmember mounted at an angle. Quadralink is mounted striaght across. If you already have it installed, i would consider modifying the box rather than trying to completely redo it which would not be fun.

sounds like it is installed correctly, it won't mount any higher as it would not cover the floor doubler that is cut through under the car. Shock should not be that compressed, does not sound right. Shocks do not support the car anyways, how much lower you trying to go? I am in the middle of a minitub kit now, but have the newer Afco shocks so i can't help you there.

Just verified today with DSE that I have the wrong shocks......they are 4" too long!!! Glad I didnt go and cut the car up. Thanks for the help guys. Musclerodz what shock are u running from Afco? Are there other shocks that I can run besides DSEs shocks?
