STZ 1967 Chevy II Build

This 1967 Chevy II should shape up to be a pretty neat build. It has been a long-time dream of the owner. Since styles, technology, personal tastes and needs of the ower have changed over the years, so has thedirection of the build. Current goal: A well-rounded street and track car.

Here's the rendering

So, this thing had been to a few shops before landing inours. A lot of nice parts were put into it. 572, Chris Alston front and rearclip with all the bells, Wilwood binders, Auto Rad set-up. But... the owner wasquestioning the quality of fabrication. These floors will all be torn out and the center section of the frame will be replaced.

Here's some shots as it came in...

When you guys blast or have your frames and/or bodies blasted, make sure to GET ALL THE SAND/MEDIA OUT!!! This was found inside the rockers. Had it never been discovered, it would have prematurely killed the body. 6142.2 grams of sand in the rockers alone. Thats about 13.5 lbs.

Nice parts prior, but as you stated, the fab quality didn't look too good. I'll be watching this one transform back into the way it should've been done.

Let's start that thread....

Very soon, Jay. Lol

Everything stripped out. Time to start building the frame. In an effort to keep the seats as low as possible, we decided on a perimeter frame. The main rails will actually tuck into the rockers nice and tight. This section we're doing will be situated from the firewall, where it will bolt to the removable front clip, and the rear alston back-half. Here's the start...

Short of the pass-throughs for fuel/brake lines, she's ready to be burned in!
