Lets talk billet valve covers!
Well I sold the carbon ones since they couldn't take the turbo heat from the up and forward header and now I am in the market for some new ones.
Has anyone had any luck with the Ebay ones? Im looking for billet ones that won't break the bank but not leak. Anyone have reviews of theirs? |
I have the billet covers from Wegner, quality is great as you know with the wegner stuff and I haven't had any leaks.

I have a set I purchase on ebay from a company named PRC, I believe. The welding on them was great. I noticed that the gasket flange was not true when I layed them on my granite countertop. They cleared my 1.8rr's perfect and seemed to seal once bolted down. I had to give up on them when I realized they interfere with my C6 Corvette alternator setup and switched back to stockers. There isnt a provision for a PCV either only the oil filler.
(made in mexico) hope this helps. |
John - MHO, do yourself a favor and call Nasty Performance. Two reasons: first your car is top notch and their vc's match from a quality perspective. Second, fabbed and even some billet covers leak and that's a PITA. Why chance it...

Hey John check out the Crane valve covers.

I just took a set of these off of my car because I got some cool fabbed ones. Let me know if you want 'em.

John,
I would either talk to Casey at Wegner or check out Clayton Machine works. His new ones are really nice. They are sand cast and then machined. They have an insert that is carbon or paintable to accent them. I have no experience with them other than I have touched and seen them in person and they look to be excellent quality. Here is a link. http://www.claytonmachine.com/valve-covers.html I think they would fit the spirit of your build well. Price is good too. Good Luck. Love your build! |
Chad,
Do you have pics? The ones on their site look like a photoshop rendering and not an actual product. |
