Door speakers with Marquez Panels

Anyone install door speakers with Marquez door panels? did you cut into the door? and do you have any pictures?

Thanks in advance!

I want to say that we had to cut the door to make a little bit of clearance. Don't have pictures of it though.

Door panel speakers

We designed the door panel to give you a location to install a speaker behind the opening. We do not cut it out since there are many sizes and manufacturers of speakers. We tend to install a 6 inch speaker behind the door panel and mount the actual unit on the door shell. If the speaker magnet is large or deep they will need to have a spacer to mount on to give the window track clearance when fully dropped. I have seen some customers mount the speaker on the door panel itself. I'm not sure how well that works, but they did cut a large enough hole for the magnet. I tend to believe that if the speaker is mounted on the door panel it will cause the door panel to rattle, but I have not tested it. I can can be reached at [email protected] if you have further questions or need photos.

Thanks Pascual -- The holes are drilled in the doors, I will let you know how it works out.

just make sure that if you mount it on the inner door shell that you seal the area between the door shell and the door panel. just had to do the same on my 11 silverado to fill ~1/2" gap. sounded much better when i made my focals seal like factory and seperated the front and rear waves.

Pascual repeat after me.... chevelle interior, chevelle interior, chevelle interior.... i'll give you guys a call in a few weeks to bug you again.

Thanks for the advice -- how did you seal the gap between the door panel and shell?

picked up the weather stripping foam that they sell for sceen doors and sliders at home depot. the speakers have ~3/8 flange around the outside and i attached it there. its easy to cut to form to what you need.
