I guess I had too many amps from my cooling fans for the connectors to handle.

That's a metri pack 150 connector. The female connector you have is pn 12052641 and the male is 12162000. The 150 series terminals are rated for 14 Amps continuous maximum current, 280 series terminals are rated for 30 Amps continuous maximum current, and 480 series terminals are rated for 42 Amps continuous maximum current. GM used those connectors for many applications and they normally use it with 20 gauge wire. 20 gauge is rated for 11 amps. The wire in your picture looks like it is at least 16 gauge. 16 gauge is rated for 22 amps. Did you have the fans fused? I guess it really doesn't matter if it was fused. In a electrical circuit the weakest link will become the fuse and that is probably what happened to your terminals. If your terminals are only rated for 14 amps and you have 12v power fused with a 30 amp fuse the terminal will burn up before for fuse pops.

What fan/fans are you running? The company I work for developed a electric fan controller recently and we did a lot of testing with different aftermarket and oem fans. If we tested the fans you have I can probably tell you their real world max draw.

I was just gonna say that! You should be using a Metri-Pack 480 connector for fans.

Thanks for the info, I am running a 20 amp circuit breaker on each fan. I have 2 13" Spal fans wired separately.
