G-machine '64 Continental?
Went to go see the movie "Ted" last night and saw the preview for the movie "Hit and Run".
It it just me or is there a pro-touring 1964 Continental in this beast? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nZlXB5okeo Can see dual Wilwood calipers at :38 as well. Pretty badass! Anyone have any more specs on this car? |

What is interesting is that we have received enough popular demand for the '63-'65 Lincoln application over the course of the last year to have actually developed a direct fit hydraulic brake assist system for it. From what we have observed, it takes a MINIMUM of 600 Ft Lbs of torque to get a (whale) like this moving the way it is in this movie preview (and AT LEAST that much brake torque to get the behemoth to stop properly too)(portly ol' well built Lincoln that it is LOL). My thoughts were that it needed to be tubbed to accomodate some MUCH larger rubber before I could (really) call it Pro-Touring, BUT still cool. The hood scoop seemed "Mopar-esque", but sort of worked :willy:

We were wondering the same this last month...if you pull out all the poop that Linc thought was cool for 64, lose the boat motor and dropped in a lighter engine trans combo, swap out the 90 gal fuel tank for a lighter aluminum 12 gal fuel cell, some fiber glass body parts, pull out the solid oak electric church pews they called bench seats and you might get it down to 4200 lbs. they do look killer slammed with big wheels. 22's in this case to make it look proportional.
Just a side note. The dash cluster itself weighs 40 lbs |
