I am seriously considering swaping out my worn out NT555's (the LR is especially bad as you know) as they are all getting close to needing replacement. How much difference is there going from a 300 NT555 to let's say a 200 TW NT05 in handling? Dramatic? Like a full second on a road course better?
Were shock adjustments necessary after going to a lower TW tire?

Hey Doug, I've got Invos on my Mustang, and I'm pretty happy with them. First and second gear used to be completely useless with the car's factory 200TW Good Years when cold. I can't give you a straight comparison of all the tires I've run because they've been on a few different cars, so this post of mine is, at best, very unscientific. For those of you that are super anal engineering types stop reading now. I never used a tire durometer to test hardness, never kept a log of air pressures, and sometimes changed shock settings. Oh, and I even occasionally changed tire sizes to really screw things up.
I've run BFG KDWs, Pilot Sport 2s, Good Year Eagle F1 G2 Supercars, NT555s, NT05s, and Invos on a handful of vehicles. My favorites are the Pilot Sport 2s and the Invos. They both seemed to give me the right amount of grip so that when they did break away, they did so in a progressive manner that was very controllable. I had NT555s on my old mustang which had about half the power of the new one. With only 260 at the wheels it was almost uncontrollable and on an autocross, once you got it turned in, and got on the gas, it just slid quickly. BTW, I have seen you spin out :unibrow: It was kind of like your Camaro, except it didn't like to turn in. The new Mustang is a bit nicer than the old one, and while it does have better suspension, I think the tires helped a fair amount. The new car is really easy to drive, much more so after swapping the Good Year F1:G2s for Invos. I did put fatter tires on the front, however the rears are pretty much the same, and the Invos seem to grip better.
