My trip to California 7-10-12
 

Hi Guy's I'm headed to California this Tuesday for fifteen days to see my new Grandson born June 29th. The wife and I are excited and so are my daughter and son in law. We're going to be there to help them but also to do some stuff with them. My son in law was looking for some car related stuff for me to go to. I'll be in Oceanside does any one know of anything going on in the area I can try to get to while Im there?? 7-11 to 7-24 we fly home on the 25th. Not sure how much we'll get to do but I'd like to try to go to somethings.

Take a ride up to Escondido and visit the guys at BOS then head to the Pantera show on the 13th.

The Sat morning cars and coffee and hour north at the junction of the 405 and the 5 is always a big event with some high quality cars of all themes.

Yeah, come on by Best of Show on a Friday and we'll make sure you're well fed. If you give us fair warning we'll make it extra special :unibrow:

I saw the old shop in 2010 while your car was there, but I haven't got to see the new one. Dick's car wasn't even painted then. I'd love to see it.

cars and coffee every saturday morning in irvine is a great show. also, chip foose's place has like a open house tour thing every week day 12-1

Cars and Coffee would be a good one on Sat morning--not that far from you. Maybe we can get Matt and the guys from SD to come on up to Irvine so you can meet some of the So Cal crew while in town. Let us know if you want to make it out Sat morning for this.

Wayne, unless your family has a bunch of early morning people, they won't even know you're off looking at cars, and partying it up with the world famous Dub Renner. We San Diego guys could have you up there and back by 9:30 in the morning.

I'll be in Oceanside on tomorrow and Thursday (but for a funeral). I'm down here all the time for relatives and work.

There are some shops you could visit while you are in the area:

• HRE Wheels in Vista
• Hot Rods and Custom Stuff in Escondido

These aren't too far away from Oceanside... 10-15 minutes or so. I'm sure there are other shops too.
