Motor mounts 67 Camaro w/ L76 and 6l80
I am going to ask a lot of question over the next few weeks, so please bare with me. This my first Lsx conversion, so I have a lot to learn. I should get my frame back from powder coating in a couple of days and want to start lining everything up.
I am using a L76 and 6L80 trans from a 2009 G8 with 47,000 miles. I am using my stock frame with tubular a arms, coil overs, and 2 inch drop spindles. From what I've read so far it seems that you have to use an adapter plate under the motor mounts to set the engine further back. Is that correct? I also read somewhere that there are some motor mounts that will allow you to use the stock A/C compressor without notching the frame. Is that right? What mounts would you recommend? Any help is very appreciated Thanks |

thanks for info,
I got the frame back today - so I'm going to pull the engine next week and start setting it in the Camaro frame to see how it fits. I'm going to try not to notch the frame and used the factory LS A/C compressor, but don't know if that will put the pulleys too close to the radiator/fan. Guess I'll find out next week. |
