Strange engineering s trac help.
 

Just installed my s trac assembled my strange. I noticed that when I move the driver's side axle the pinion yoke will rotate, but the passenger axle does not turn. Tried turning the pinion yoke (1/4 to 1/2 rotation) and only the driver's side axle spins. Tried switching axles to put the longer axle in the passenger side thinking the axles were ordered wrong. still nothing. Is this the nature of the S trac or is something wrong.

I'm sure it's just my lack of knowledge but would appreciate some input.

From what I understand from talking things over with the engineers at strange this is how it functions when not under load.

I could be wrong though, I personally do not have hands on experience with the s-trac (just talking with the guys from strange) yet but I do understand its basic function mimics the wavetrac from moser.

I was also told that they have not tested it above 500 RWHP yet unlike the wavetrac which is guaranteed to 800. Once you get your car up and running please give some feedback on the s-trac. I hear many mixed feelings about the wavetrac now that its getting more exposure in the auto-x realm.

Jason, I will be putting it through it's paces soon.....hopefully. I will definitely post my impressions. thanks for the info.

The S-Trac does require a load before the other axle will engage. Most Helical gear differentials function this way.
