05 GTO Suspension Mods

Hello to all the corner carvers..

So I have a 05 GTO. I have been looking for information pertaining to any suspension mods/swaps that anyone might have done.

Though it was not a 05 GTO. The closest thing I found to my ideas for the IRS for my GTO was the Doug Sinjem's 66 Nova. But I can't find any build info.

If any one has info on that I'm all eyes & ears.

Thx,
Kevin

Kevin, we at Ridetech will be introducing a new line of coil-over and air spring struts at this years SEMA.
I have been working on the 5th Gen Camaro as well as the 05+ Mustang, but more strut cars are in the plans.

Keep an eye on our website as we'll be introducing them as soon as they are ready:

Here are a couple of links to images of our new Fox Racing Shox based strut program. The unit consists of a steel body monotube strut cartridge and an extruded aluminum mount that is specific to each application.
Though the brake and abs brackets on these prototypes are painted steel they will be stainless on the production units.

The proto's are non adjustable, but production will be offered in non-adjustable, single adjustable (rebound) and triple adjustable (rebound, high speed compression, low speed compression).

I would actually like to replace all of it.
I have read mixed comments about pedders. There are a few limitation issues with some of the components and I have only seen one guy address, but his thread died.
Another guy had started a C5 IRS / GTO suspension swap but that died as well.

I guess this is going to be one of those things that no one wants to mess with.

As far as I see you only have two choices:

1-replace the OE struts/shocks with something better.

2-cut it all out and create your own (C5/C6, custom, whatever).

I personally preferred to get rid of the struts on my 3rd gen Camaro so I cut it out and put in C5 stuff (didn't hurt that I had a left over Z06 to cut up):

Check out some of the Aussie sites, they carried the body for just shy of a decade so they have it pretty much covered.

That is some awesome info, thanks!
I had come to the realization that I would be in uncharted waters here.. I just figured that with all the inherent issues with the GTO suspension that there would have been a project or two here. Time to start some measuring.. :willy:

You wouldn't happen to have a site or something before I go blindly off in to the dark WWW would you? LOL
