new car in the garage..

67 RS Survivor

Van Nuys built car (Feb of 67).. 327/Powerglide with split bench seat, rear radio speaker and column shift.

Very unmolested and still has the original interior, AM radio and even the smog pump (and black plates). Minor rust near the edge of the vinyl top (will have to replace the rear filler panel. But damn, this car is straight.. had its original owners manual, accesory book, and GM smog propaganda book.

Plan on fixing the rust, redoing the interior with a stock feel (Bolstered Stock buckets). Engine will swap to a 383 stroker Gen I small-block I have (but it's currently helping a car run at El Mirage). Trans will be an OD automatic or maybe a TH350 and a gear vendor. Will rebuild and posi up the 10-bolt. The suspension will be simple bolt on stuff with better disc brakes.. 17 inch wheels.. nothing too fancy. I want to do some stories for those that want more of a Street Machine than a Pro-Touring super expensive car. Maybe 6 or 7 stories then done.

Anyhow, it's nice to start with a car that runs and drives (and leaks oil.. ack!)

It should be a fun car.. doubt I will keep it when it's done for a long time, not enough room in the garage for three first gens.

The RH headlight doors even work... :)

Yea.. some were like "OH NO!! Restore it and don't change a thing!!".. but really, it's not rare in a desirable way, you would think it was an RS/SS big-block or Yenko.. lol

And yea.. color code is H-H

Wow thats a clean looking car. Refreshing to hear your going to do a suttle build on it.

There are many practical reasons to do a simpler build, the main one being that it's a direction many of my readers go.
