Welding on axle brackets

Well its finally about time to finalize the position of the brackets on my dana 60 for my Ridetech 4 link. I had some custom brackets made to eliminate the U-bolts etc..got the rearend centered, pinion angle set etc etc...

My plan is to get it all dialed in....tack all the brackets on and then have a Pro do the final welding.... I dont trust my welding skills for something that will have that much stress on it :)

So my question....who to have do the final welding?

My concern is the warpage of the axle housing.... I know its ideal to have it all jigged up and or, be heated and straightened after the brackets are welded on.

I would love to have Currie/Moser/Strange do it.....but none of them are close to me

Any suggestions?

Ned isn't Speedway by you or at least in Cali?? Ask Ron he just had them do his 9" floater, they installed his DSE brackets at the same time. Not sure how close they are to you but gotta be easier then shipping it all the way to the midwest?

Here I believe this is the place??

Again check with Ron in SoCal!

Ned ship it to Speedway in Socal. Ask for Frank. They jig it up all the way to the housing ends, heat/cool cycles, and guarantee .003 tollerance. Nascar level stuff. This will prevent premature bearing failures among other potential calamities.

Send me a PM if I can help!

Spoke with the guys over at Dominator Street Rods....sounds like they feel pretty confident to do all the welding and not have any issue with warping it...and if it does warp some, they recommended we send it to Speedway.... :)

I'm just trying to avoid having to ship the rearend...just kind of a a PITA......

Ned good grief....if those brackets are to be TIGd on, one at a time, there won't be any concern whatsoever about "warpage". Get them where you want them, tack them with your mig and then have our friend mr Woodall TIG weld them. His welds are art.

Of course I'm over thinking things... Duh... How long have you known me now Rob?
