RTTC Chatter

Pretty quiet, so I'll start!

Went to El Toro yesterday for the morning session. Looked like some early timing issues on the AutoX and then they were off. First session everyone got plenty of runs, so much so the course went unused for a while at multiple times. I'm not sure the real time track update was working properly?

It looked like they were running three cars on the big track at various times but I could be wrong. From what I could see I really liked the layout compared to earlier in the year. IMHO, the inagural RTTC had the best twisty road course.

Speed stop squared...no x-mas tree. Course set up was different than last March. At the drivers meeting they explained that you would start facing opposite direction away from each other. Safety and city compliance was the reason given. Before lunch I went over to watch the second run group and only one side was used for times, the other for untimed practice runs.

Weather was perfect - mid 70s! A little bit of mechanical carnage, nothing major that I saw. About 35 cars maybe across all events. Attitude was casual, everyone was friendly and lots of smiles all around! It looked like you got as many runs as you wanted which seemed to be a great value for the day.

Props to Matt A, the artist formerly known as MSA69, for the AutoX demonstration. I have new found respect for the late model stang. Oh, hes not a bad driver either...

Brett was peddling around on a 50s girls biike which was not only cool, but a real attention getter/conversation piece.

Great cars, great people, great attitudes, great weather, LOTS of media...what more could you want? :lateral:

Well, technically I mis-spoke. It started life w parts from a girl's bike and Brett welded it up. That's the story I heard anyway. Lots of patina on it for sure...

That would imply you had respect in the first place... (kidding chief!)

Did you not say you welded some parts from another girl's donor when we had the eBay conversation with the other collectors?
