Discovery Channel Plane Crash

Anyone here watch it?

Basically first class and flight crew is dead. everyone from rows 8 and back have a real good chance at surviving.

I wonder if First class ticket prices will drop now.

Cool show! Still surprised the airplane industry hasn't done this type of testing before.

What I really would of liked to have seen is the over head bins full of luggage.
I think that would of made evacuating the plane very hard to do.
Also the cargo area being full of luggage I wonder if that would of cushioned the impact some?

I'm real surprised they don't do this more often. I think they will learn alot from this. NASA did this once in the 70's and the plane became engulfed in flames, they talk about it on the show.

So a guy that belongs to the Seattle Yacht Club (Dang if I can recall his name this instant!) -- and lives here locally -- invented the chemical that after that test in the 70's was added to jet fuel and I think rocket fuel etc to make it safer to handle etc but still burn to run rockets etc... He was quite wealthy because of that. If memory serves me right - he passed away a year or so ago.

I'll have to make a couple calls to get his name... He was a real quirky guy. I had lunch with him a couple times at the club... He was very quick to tell you of his "invention".

There are two "art" objects at the west end of the 520 floating bridge that he had built... and every time I drive over the bridge I think of him.
