Help from the Wheel & Tire Guru's

I have a 1968 Camaro RS/SS with factory 12 Bolt and Multi-Leafs. The front suspension is still stock, just rebuilt. I am beginning work on it now with plans to change the suspension over to a Hotchkis TVS with 2" Drop. My biggest question at the moment is I want to order a new set of wheels and tires for it but no one in my area is very knowledgeable about what will fit. I want to put a set of Boss 338's in an 18" in front with a 20" in the rear. Going for a resto-mod/pro tour kinda theme overall. Could someone tell me from experience if a 20x10 will fit the rear without spring relocation or mini tubs or will I have go with a 20x8.5? Also what width would you recommend for the front and what tires sizes should I pursue? I am hoping to stuff as fat a tire underneath as possible without regretting it while driving down the road.

Also is there a better more cost effective solution to the suspension than the Hotchkis kit?

Thank everyone in advance for sharing your knowledge!!!!!

Why not call Hotchkis and ask them for a baseline recommendation for their kit?

No matter what you have a 44 year old car and they are all a little different so you need to measure your car to ensure you get the right fit.

A 20" wheel is pretty tall in the first of the first gens and not a lot of people run a 20. If you want the stuffed look a 18/19 will get you there JMO.:D

From misty memories of stuffing 16x8s in a 69 Firebird in 1981 I'll say no way a 10" wheel will fit with stock springs. I could be wrong it's been 30 years.

I have a 68 with factory 12 bolt with 17x9.5 with 5.5" BS and 255-45-17's and every now and then I hit a dip or bump in the road they rub the inside of the wheel wells I am maxed out on size, and probably mini-tubbing down the road. Its best to do a lot of research before you spend big bucks on wheels and tires. Good luck

Any chance you could upload a picture of it? Would a 20x8.5 be a better choice?

Stock 1968 Camaro we normally would build a 8.0" front with a 245 tire and rear a 9.5" with a 275 tire.

Are you using stock brakes front/rear?

the boss 338 20x10 has to much back spacing if you use 3/4 spacer and roll the fender lip will fit
8.5 will fit but a 275 tire needs 9 or 9.5 rimhttp://i778.photobucket.com/albums/y...Camaro/045.jpghttp://i778.photobucket.com/albums/y...o/68Camaro.jpg

Car currently has factory disc in front and drum in tear. I will be changing both eventually to a better disc setup. Hard part here is I want a huge wheel/tire but the car is a real RS/SS so I'm not into the idea of mini tubs and hacking it up really.

Anyone have any experience with the Riddler 695 wheels? I cant find any real info on them yet online to see what back spacing is offered but I wonder if they would be a more viable option.
