Gen II Camaro owners I need help! Rushforth Rated X

I have been talking to Jason @ Rushforth and we are trying to lock down a front wheel/tire size for the front of my 72 Camaro. I am willing to run aftermarket wheel wells. I was looking for some 18'' wheel /bs/tire size combos for a stock subframe Gen II. Whats everyone running or whats the widest you have seen? Anyone ever see a 18x10 on a stock sub Gen II? Thanks in advance for the help

Rear 18x12 6''bs/ (335/30/18) 57'' flange to flange Fab9 housing
Front 18x?

18x9 with what bs? 18x8 is at 4.75, 18x9.5 is at 6. What size tire are you running with the 18x9?

I want to avoid anything sticking out of the wheel well. I think I want 1/4-1/2'' inside of the wheel well.

Thank you for the response

I will be running a 18x9.5 with a 6in bs on my 79 camaro. I will have to modify my inner fenders but if you are anvil inners or some others you should be okay.

Okay, thats more or less the answer I was looking for. Jason doesnt offer half sizes so I would end up going with the 18x9. People are doing a 4.75-5'' bs on the 18x8's and 6''bs on the 18x9.5's. So Im thinking 5.25-5.5'' bs on an 18x9? Running a 265-275 tire?

Thanks for the response-Kevin

I have 18 x 8 with 5.75 back spacing with a 24.5" tall front tire and it hugs the inner wheel lip very tight.

The only problem I had was the front end was still a little high so I added drop spindles to get the top of the tire even with the wheel well arch. In doing so the rim hit the outer Tie Rod. In order for it to work I install a set of Bear Tracker Hiem Joint tie rod ends and a 1/4 spacer.

If you go with Stock Spindles you will not have a problem. I was recently told that CPP makes a drop spindle that will clear a 9" rim. But I have not confirmed that yet.

First off, I have been following your Gen II build for a while now. I love the car but hate the fact that you have convinced me that I must have a tiger cage LOL.

As I sit right now Im going with the following:
2'' Drop spindles, CAC bump steer linkage, CAC upper/lower's (Anvil wheel wells if need be)
Front:18x9 5.25/5.5bs 265/35/18
Rear:18x12 5.5bs 335/30/18 57'' flange to flange housing
Opinion?

Thanks for the response

Like Marty's car my setup is also hugging the outer lip of the fender and even had to make a small clearance to it. My car is a little low in the front and will be bringing it back up a little. If you are on protouring.com you could pm Mary Pozzi about her car. I know that she ran a 18x9 with a 275 tire but she is from what I know going with a 295 tire and fender stretch.

@Marty- I attempted to email you but it didnt work. [email protected] is mine if you get time.

Im going with the 9 on a 255 so I will see how that goes for the time being. Thanks for the help!
