1st year of auto-x in my Daily Driver summary
This was my first year doing any driving events. Started with auto-x for now, i might get up to a road course next year if i'm feeling lucky.
I started off in my Honda civic for a few months and was trying to get the hang of the wrong-wheel drive, but after just riding in my friends camaro i knew i had to get back in a RWD car again! Its my daily driver, 1999 Trans Am T56 car. Has full exhaust on it, and Strano aftermarket springs and thats it. shocks even have 130K on them! The IDEA for next year is 17x11's and 315 on all 4 corners and some sway bars. who knows if ill actually do it though :willy: Dont make fun of the ending on the video! I didnt realize there was editing to do afterwards. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncwqREikkOk Tons of body roll! http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...psf87176d2.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps9fbc4111.jpg |
Fun times. I enjoyed autoxing my 96 Formula. Get with Sam on your suspension parts and always remember it's more about your technique than anything else.

For street tires, I liked my Firestone Wide Ovals the best. The only thing to keep in mind as this is your daily driver, is that UHP tires are listed as summer tires only for a very good reason. You will have no traction in the winter especially on even the slightest amount of ice or snow. So, have a different set of rims and tires for autox or winter.
